I created this and many other videos for Plaza de la Raza during their year-long shutdown due to the pandemic. Plaza is a hub for the arts in East Los Angeles. They promote and teach visual arts, as well as performing arts.
Danza Azteca and the craft of Danza regalia creation can be very tedious & laborious. It requires repetitive movement, concentration, skill & artistic vision.
This video hopefully sheds a little insight into the world of Danza Azteca & the skilled craft involved in creating the beautiful & iconic Aztec regalia that's intertwined in our cultural tapestry of So Cal.
